A rolling door
is generally composed of multiple interlocking horizontal strips called slats
that run in u-channel guides. As the door is raised these slats are rolled
on to a barrel inside a hood that sits on top of the guides above the opening.
These doors may be insulated or fire labeled for openings in fire walls. One
variant of this type of door is made of high impact plastic sheets and equipped
with high speed motors for quick opening and closing in a factory environment.
The grill version of this type of door is most often seen in shopping malls
or cafeterias. These are available in multiple styles and constructions from
aluminum tubes to steel chains.
Pad Door Systems, Inc., offers Rolling doors and grills from Wayne Dalton
and Windsor Door.
